Mr. Angelo Sapienza is an Instrumental Music Teacher and the Director of Bands at Doherty High School where he conducts the Concert Band, Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Pit Orchestra. He also teaches the Spartan Legion Marching Band and Pep Bands.
A Colorado Native, Mr. Sapienza earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado Boulder and Master’s degree in Music Performance from Colorado State University. As a performer, Mr. Sapienza was named a semifinalist in audition for ‘The President’s Own’ United States Marine Band, and participated in five national tours as a member of the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mr. Sapienza’s most notable teaching influences include J. Michael Dunn, Stephen Dombrowski, Dr. Matthew Roeder, Dr. Rebecca Phillips, and Mark Arnold.
Before teaching at Doherty High School, Mr. Sapienza served as an Instrumental Music Teacher at Rampart High School instructing band, orchestra, and general music classes. He also taught at Colorado State University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and at Evergreen High School as a primary instructor for the “Cougar Pride Marching Band”. He is an active member of the Colorado Bandmaster’s Association, The Colorado Music Educators Association, The National Association for Music Education, and is an honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Outside of teaching and performing music, Mr. Sapienza enjoys stand-up comedy, being outdoors, weightlifting, and Denver Broncos football.
Mr. Dukart is originally from St. Paul Minnesota and is an fan of all teams Minnesota! Mr. Dukart went to Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Music Education, with an certification to tech K-12 instrumental, vocal, and orchestral music. After teaching for 2 years in St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Dukart headed west to the great state of Colorado! Mr. Dukart was the director of bands at Woodland Park High School where he ran an award winning jazz band, 3 concert bands, marching band, pep band, winter color guard and winter drumline.

From 2015 - 2018 Mr. Dukart was a general music teacher in the Harrison school district where he taught beginning band, helped with the Harrison High School Marching Band and also directed many school musicals.

Mr. Dukart plays the trumpet, but has a passion for all instruments! Mr. Dukart also loves to stay active by running various distance races from 5K's, to full marathons and all distances of triathlons. Mr. Dukart has finished 4 full Ironman triathlons (140.6 mile races) and is currently training for Ironmans 5 and 6.
Ms. Tracy Silloway is a staff member for Doherty's Spartan Legion Marching Band. She attended Doherty High School and moved on to earn her English Education degree from Colorado State University Fort Collins. Ms. Silloway is currently in her first year of teaching 7th grade Language Arts at Timberview Middle School and loves returning to Doherty to help out on evenings and weekends. Outside of teaching, Ms. Silloway makes time to practice yoga, ski, cook, and read YA novels!
